Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, says the impatience of Nigerians
make coaching the National team very difficult. He said this while
speaking to sports journalists in Abuja yesterday December 8th
"Coaching Nigeria is difficult not because of the sporting aspect but
because of the fact that we are very impatient. Because we went to
Tanzania after two days of training and got a draw, it was as if we lost
the World Cup. We lost to DR Congo in a friendly it was as if oh! ...Go
get the best coach in the world.
Let him come and coach players for two days and let
see if he will get the desired result. I understand criticism; some
times we need it. I build up my team from my assistants’ support.
Criticism is what makes you get better. If it is constructive, then we
can work on it. If my players didn’t play well attack them; if I don’t
do well attack me as well. have been coaching for 10 years. Even while I
was a pundit, I was already a coach. And I was part of FIFA Technical
Study Group. You cannot be a good coach if you are not a good analyst
because when you stand there you have to analyse how your team is doing
well and what you have to change,”he said
